Inspiring our readers with the knowledge that both human consciousness and the entire cosmos are infinitely more amazing than we can imagine, is of paramount importance in these times; and for us at Arago Press it is a mission that we wholeheartedly embrace.
We are exploring new territory by including a left-brained approach to examining right-brained themes of higher mind potential, spirit communication, and the nature of the afterlife — while using the lenses of both science and spirituality.
The Pacific Northwest's beautiful Oregon Coast is our spiritual home — and it is here that lies our namesake, Cape Arago. And behind the name of the Cape, is the 18th Century French experimental scientist and statesman, Francois Arago. He was instrumental in promoting the wave theory of light (inspiration for our logo design of particle versus wave) and many other notable achievements. Our use of the Arago name connects us to both the natural wonder of land and sea, and to a wonder in human vision and thinking. It is in this tradition that we continue our work.
Jeffrey Marks is a research and spiritual medium, paranormal investigator, and the author of our award-winning books in the categories of Afterlife Studies and Mind Stuff. He is a dynamic educator and speaker on spiritual potential and psychic development, and has offered workshops in the Puget Sound area.
A Washington state native, Jeffrey is a compassionate voice for the spirits, and has connected people with their passed loved ones, for both individuals and groups in the Pacific Northwest, across the United States, and internationally.
Jeffrey's intent is unique among mediums and sets him apart: "My interest in being a psychic medium is to unlock the deeper possibilities inherent within people and to discover more about what it means to be a Soul — in the hope of making the world a better place when I leave it than when I entered it."
Jeffrey is also an accomplished colored-pencil portrait artist of people and pets, and northwest landscapes. He squeezes in his art and mediumship on the side of his day job for a local municipality.
Heidi Marks founded Arago Press, on the side of her day job, to publish Jeffrey's manuscripts, and is responsible for taking content from editing to book design, from printing to publicity. Heidi's detailed attention given to the creation of each book helped net two major awards for Arago's very first publication!
Heidi continues in a long public health career, spanning from research chemist to written and visual communications. Curiosity and wonder about the natural world, and the workings of the human body, shape her writing interests.
Graduation from the nationally acclaimed Denver Publishing Institute, plus a stint in bookselling at Denver's famous Tattered Cover Book Store provide Heidi with additional insight into the many facets of information expression. She looks forward to taking Arago Press into high gear after she retires from her federal career in a few years, and finally writing and publishing books of her own!
